QuranNoteTaker ("the App") is developed and operated by QuranNoteTaker. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and a unique user identifier via Firebase Authentication. You can use the App without an account; an anonymous identifier is created locally in that case.
Audio recordings. Recordings you make are stored on your device. If you are signed in, audio files are uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage under your account so you can access them across devices. We do not listen to or review your recordings.
Notes and study data. Notes, flashcards, bookmarks, chat history, and summaries you create are stored locally on your device and, if you are signed in, synced to Google Cloud Firestore under your account.
Transcription and AI processing. When you request a transcription or AI-generated summary, chat response, or flashcards, your audio or text is sent to third-party AI services (currently Groq and DeepSeek) through our secure server. These services process the data to return results and do not retain it beyond the request. We do not store the raw data sent to these services on our servers.
Subscription information. Purchase and subscription status is managed by Apple through StoreKit. We receive a transaction identifier and entitlement status but do not have access to your payment method or billing details.
Usage data. We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised usage statistics such as screen views and feature usage. This data cannot be linked to your identity.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and applicable data-processing agreements.
Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Audio files are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage and text data in Cloud Firestore. Access is restricted to your authenticated account. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual notes, recordings, flashcards, and bookmarks at any time within the App. To delete your account and all associated data, use the "Delete Account" option in the App's settings. Upon account deletion, we will remove your data from our servers within 30 days.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to restrict or object to its processing. Contact us at the email below to exercise these rights.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on this page with a revised effective date.
